What is speech therapy?

Speech therapy helps individuals improve their communication skills, including speech, language, and fluency. It is often used to treat conditions such as speech delays, stuttering, articulation disorders, and language disorders. Additionally, Speech Therapists can work with adults after an incident such as a stroke or TBI. 

What types of speech disorders can speech therapy help with?

  • Articulation disorders (e.g., difficulty pronouncing sounds)

  • Language disorders (e.g., difficulty with understanding or using language)

  • Fluency disorders (e.g., stuttering)

  • Swallowing disorders (dysphagia)

Do I need a referral from a doctor to see a speech therapist?

In most cases, you do need a referral to see a speech therapist. Please check with your insurance company if you are unsure. How do I get a doctor's referral?

Please let us know who your child's primary care physician is , and we will reach out to them to initiate the referral process and obtain a prescription for services. 

Where does therapy occur?

We are a mobile therapy service, providing treatment in homes, schools (dependent on permission), daycares (dependent on permission), and  any natural environment to the patient.  

Does insurance cover speech therapy?

Many insurance plans cover speech therapy services. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm coverage and out-of-pocket costs. 

We also accept cash pay and can provide a superbill to families that have insurance but are Out of Network (OON). Please contact for fees and further information regarding this. 

Can speech therapy be done virtually?

Yes! We offer online speech therapy sessions via video call, when appropriate to the patient.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

  • Difficulty pronouncing certain sounds
